Our last day in
Washington is finally here! It sure seems like it was just yesterday
that we got here. Team PCA decided to have some fun in the
snow! We wanted to see Mt.
Rainier too, but the road past the
entrance gate was closed due to SNOW! We decided to drive up to
Crystal Mountain to see if we could play in some snow. The drive
up seemed really long.....the outside temperature dropped ever
so slowly until everything outside was WHITE! Snow
everywhere! We parked along side other skiers/snowboarders who were
there at Crystal Mountain to enjoy the slopes. We certainly looked
out of place in our jeans and running shoes....except for Coach Al
who was lucky enough to borrow snow shoes. We watched little kids
ski down the slopes and adults learning how to snowboard. This is
definitely something Team PCA needs to do next year! After making a
small little snowman to watch over the ski rentals, we drove a little ways
down to do some sledding. The girls had lots of fun thanks to
Kylie's cousins who let us use their fun sleds. They
also made a big snowman with some help and even threw some snowballs for
fun! The snow was perfect to make snowballs and the weather was
great....a little sun and even some snow falling here and
there.
After all the fun, we decided to have lunch
in the town at the bottom of the mountain. Teriyaki....what could go
wrong with teriyaki right? Pictures on the menu looked great and
prices seemed just right....about $8.00 for a plate. We
all ordered a plate......then came the shock after our order was
ready. It was soooo BIG! Wow, 2-3 people could easily
share each plate! There was a touch of Hawaii across the
street from the teriyaki place.... the Maui Room ...a karaoke
place. (see photo)
We couldn't miss out having dinner at The
Crab Pot in downtown Seattle....so we drove up to Seattle in the late
afternoon to check out Pike Place Market. It was crab, clams,
crab, mussels, crab and more crab! Hungry?
We fly back tomorrow..... snow was fun but
paradise is much, much better! This is it for the 2010
Northwest Section Age Group Champs Team PCA Blog....thanks for
reading!
