Pearl City Aquatics, Inc . was founded by Head Coach Ken Suenaga in 1968. They first held practice at the Momilani Recreation Center with only 14 swimmers. After a year at the Momilani Recreation Center, they moved to their current home at the Pearl City District Park Pool. 

In 2003, Head Coach Ken Suenaga's dreams of having an aquatics center worthy of Olympic and international competition on Oahu was realized with the opening of the Veterans' Memorial Aquatics Center (VMAC) in the Patsy T. Mink Central Oahu Regional Park.  The club now utilizes both pool locations.  (See Facilities)

Pearl City Aquatics, Inc. is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization. They operate a community-based swim team that promotes development of good character through good sportsmanship in competitive swimming.  Until 1975, Pearl City Aquatics, Inc. was regulated by the (AAU) Amateur Athletes Union. The club is now under the umbrella of United States Swimming.

Pearl City Aquatics, Inc. is dedicated to help support and promote the Local Swim Committee (LSC), the United States Swimming Chapter and the National Committee of United States Swimming in their endeavors.  The club hosts several swim meets a year to promote competitive swimming with other swim clubs.  The first Pearl City Invitational Swim Meet was held in 1980.  The annual invitational swim meet is now named the Ken Suenaga Invitational Swim Meet after the Head Coach.

Club membership is open to the public and all persons interested in swimming who foster the idea of competition and the betterment of Pearl City Aquatics, Inc.
